Purpose: To create a fully functioning e-commerce website for a mock company known as The Old World Bakery
The site was created by myself and four other group members. The site was completed throughout the six week summer course this past summer 2007 This available site has not been upgraded since it was created but I have made improvements to my version and it will be up soon.
The site contains some of the following:
The task was to find a solution for the Old World Bakery. This company used a legacy database and wanted to consult our company in order to upgrade their systems and allow customers to update and create orders using the new website.
We the consultants then were hired to create the website in order to fulfill those requirements in addition to merging their legacy systems with the new system. Therefore the web page would take care of all the requirements.
As a solution we the consultants created three differnet areas of the web page that will be custom made for each particular user. These are Retail customers, Commercial customers, and Employees. This system would allow the bakery to increase their efficiency by easily fulfilling orders.
With that in mind the retail customers would order their products and checkout using the shopping cart, a typical purchase. The commercial customers would create and edit their standing orders for each week, a continuous order and the employees would have access to adding new products updating the product information along with the capability of updating standing orders.

Click for the Logical Data Model (LDM). This shows the database used to keep all the records for the bakery and to work with the website.
Lastly the web page was created using Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP) and Visual Basic(VB) as the code behind. The database used was Microsoft SQL
